J&K: One terrorist killed in Bandipora encounter, search operations continue

Srinagar: A terrorist has been killed in an ongoing encounter between the security forces and militants in the forest area of Bandipora district in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. 

 The identity of the terrorist however has not yet been ascertained. The search operation is still underway.

Following information about presence of militants, security personnel launched a cordon and search operation in the forests of Sumlar area in the district, an official said. 

The search operation turned into an encounter after militants opened fire at positions of the security forces, an official said.
