Hyderabad: Road repair works fall short of target
Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation which was supposed to fix 1,100 kilometre roads at a cost of '721 crore between March and May under periodical preventive maintenance (PPM) has not even managed to complete 40 per cent of it.
At several stretches, the corporation has laid only single layer road and on a few stretches, it just took up milling activity.
Out 1,100 lane kilometre, the corporation has not even managed to complete 400 kilometre repair work in six months.
Interestingly, the road laying and repair work has come to a grinding halt since six weeks despite several complaints from commuters. PPM work involves milling of the existing BT road, re-profiling and re-laying it. And it is ideally done once in five years.
