Hyderabad High Court bars release of Panchayat Raj job test result

They said the decision to fix the age limit at 39 had deprived them of a chance to appear for the test.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court has directed the Commissioner for Panchayat Raj and Rural Employment not to declare the results of recruitment test for the post of Junior Panchayat Secretary till further orders over the issue of fixing the maximum age limit of 39 years.

Justice P. Naveen Rao granted the interim order on a petition filed by Mr Kesani Jayadheer Reddy and others challenging the recruitment notification.

The petitioners told the court that fixing the maximum age at 39 years was in contravention to the adhoc rule stated in Government Order Ms No. 190 on August 8, 2017, in which maximum age was prescribed as 44 years for OC candidates. They said the decision to fix the age limit at 39 had deprived them of a chance to appear for the test. Justice Naveen Rao directed authorities to allow petitioners to participate in selection process.
