Chandrayaan set for soft landing on Moon

TIRUPATI: India's journey into the realm of space exploration is about to achieve a momentous feat, with Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) announcing on Sunday that its Chandrayaan-3 Mission is on track to execute a soft landing on the lunar surface on Wednesday, August 23.

In a statement on Sunday, the Indian space agency highlighted that the landing will be a significant step forward for Indian science, engineering, technology and industry, symbolising our nation's progress in space exploration.

Isro emphasised that this accomplishment is a source of inspiration for youth, fuelling curiosity and fostering a passion for exploration. “It's a moment that resonates with national pride, uniting the country as it celebrates the technological prowess of Indian science. This achievement is expected to contribute significantly to nurturing an environment of scientific inquiry and innovation across India.”

The space agency will broadcast live the moon landing on August 23, starting from 5:27 p.m. It will be available via multiple platforms, including Isro website, social media platforms, and DD National TV channel.

Isro has invited all schools and educational institutions to actively publicise the historic event among students within their premises by live streaming the Chandrayaan-3 soft landing.
