Congress vows slew of sops to win polls
Hyderabad: TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Sunday said that the Congress party’s poll promises to waive off crop loan arrears up to Rs 2 lakh at a single go, doubling old age pension to Rs 3,000 per month, reducing age limit from 65 years to 58 years to avail old age pension and giving Rs 3,000 per month as allowance to 10 lakh unemployed will drive the Congress to power in the upcoming Assembly elections.
Mr Reddy said these three major promises given by the Congress got overwhelming response from all the sections, who were extending complete support to the Congress.
“The Congress never gives false promises like the TRS. The TRS secured power on the foundation of false promises in the 2014 elections. People have realised this and are eager to teach a fitting lesson to TRS in the coming elections. The Congress has given these major promises only after taking up a thorough study of the pros and cons and coming to a practical conclusion that these can be implemented without any problem,” he saidwhile interacting with party activists through Facebook live on Sunday.
Mr Reddy also came down heavily on IT minister K.T. Rama Rao for terming the Congress party as ‘luchcha’.
