Telangana told to probe businessman's confinement

While admitting the petition, the judge directed the home secretary to inquiry into the matter.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Friday directed the principal secretary of Telangana home department to file a report before the court on the alleged confinement of a businessman and his employees by the Narsingi police of Cyberabad.

Justice M.S. Ramachandra Rao was dealing with a petition by Eider Industries, Mr Maroju Shiva Kumar and Ms Nirmala Rani, alleging that the LB Nagar DCP, Saroornagar ACP and Narsingi police inspector had confined them from July 21 to 25 at a function hall in Saroornagar.

The petitioners alleged that the police had collected cheques in favour of the private respondent and forcibly taken away a bunch of keys of their factory while threatening the staff with dire consequences if they tried to open the locks of the factory. While admitting the petition, the judge directed the home secretary to inquiry into the matter.
