Panel cautions agriculture university students

The advisory mentioned eight institutes operating as their study centres in the state.

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Council for Higher Education has warned students against seeking admission in institutes operating as study centres in Telangana and offering BSc Agriculture course despite not having permission either from the state government or from the Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University.

The council listed three universities - Dr B.R. Ambedkar University, Agra, Singhania University, Rajasthan, and JS University, Uttar Pradesh - in its advisory. The advisory mentioned eight institutes operating as their study centres in the state: Trinity Agriculture College, Trinity Agriculture Academy, Green Lands Institute of Agriculture, Green Fields Institute of Agriculture, Telangana Agriculture Institute of Science and Technology, Maximaa Institute of Agriculture, Green Plants Institute of Agriculture and Apollo Institute of Agriculture. This newspaper had reported how such institutes were cheating students by charging them lakhs of rupees for agriculture degrees from universities that were not recognised by Indian Council of Agricultural Research.
