Hyderabad Cop Shares Video on Rain Safety Measures
Hyderabad: In the wake of the heavy rains lashing the city, the Hyderabad police tried to create awareness about some precautions that could save lives.
Hyderabad SI Gaddam Mallesh posted a video alerting the public over the maladies of monsoon, which soon became viral on the internet.
In the video, he said people should try to create awareness among children about the electric shock that could pass through electric poles during rainy season. "It would be better if people can make the kids understand about the consequences of shock transmitted from electric poles."
Similarly, it would be better if people living in mud and thatched roof houses shift to safer places for a couple of days as there is a chance of the old walls getting soaked in rain and collapsing due to the incessant rain," he said.
The SI also suggested that motorists do not travel in new routes but continue to commute in the old areas as they will be aware of the manholes in the routine route. This can avoid getting drowned in the overflowing manholes and other accidents, he said.
Mallesh also warned people not to go near or beneath trees during the rainy season as rain accompanied with gales could lead to uprooting and breaking of branches that could lead to injuries and deaths.
In case, people need help they can Dial 100 and police would reach out to them for assistance.
