Thiruvananthapuram: Finish Vavubali works by July 26, says corp
Thiruvananthapuram: As part of its effort to ensure smooth conduct of Vavubali, the city corporation on Friday has given an ultimatum to various departments to finish all arra-ngements before July 26. The meeting chair-ed by various standing committee heads inclu-ding Palayam Rajan, K. Sreekumar and Van-chiyoor Babu evaluated the progress of various work taken up at Thiruvallom and Shangumugham.
Devaswom Board has opened nine counters at Thiruvallom Sree Parasurama Temple to manage the huge cro-wd who arrive for offering Vavubali. Accord-ing to officials around 3,000 people can offer vavubali at a time at Thiruvallom. The corporation has also taken step to enforce green protocol during Vavub-ali. The corporation health wing will be enforcing green protocol. The green army will be carrying out awareness programme to educate the public. The authorities are gearing up to ban plastic carry bags in the temple premises.
Mobile toilet facilities would be stationed at the temple premises to facilitate the devotees. KSRTC will operate more services from Thiruvallom temple to various destinations to ensure smooth transportation for the devotees.
The meeting has also given direction to the Kerala State Electricity Board Ltd to reinstate power connection at the temple which was disconnected to facilitate the NH work. PWD authorities have been given direction to finish the maintenance work of the roads before July 26.
