Tamil Brahmins’ global meet calls for unity

Terming Brahmins as non-violent people, he said they cannot become communalists.

Kochi: Members of the Brahmin community should collectively raise their voice to achieve their rights, said Justice V. Chidambersh here on Friday. Speaking after inaugurating the Tamil Brahmins’ Global Meet organised by Kerala Brahmana Sabha, he said the community should raise their vice for economic reservation. “Caste reservation is an injustice to the Brahmins,” he said.

Stating that the Brahmin community should not be marginalised, he said he would not comment more as he is holding a constitutional position.

Terming Brahmins as non-violent people, he said they cannot become communalists.

Karimpuzha Raman, president of the Kerala Brahmana Sabha, stressed the need for the community to become a strong vote bank for realising its legitimate rights.

He also lamented that the community is losing its cultural values and tradition. The three-day global meet will see deliberations on a slew of subjects facing the community
