Subramanian Swamy slams K Chandrasekhar Rao over seer issue
HYDERABAD: Bhartiya Janata Party Rajya Sabha member Dr. Subramanian Swamy said that it was highly insulting that the authorities had categorised Swami Paripoornanda as “Goonda”. In a letter written to the Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, he questioned the motives of the authorities who passed orders externment against Sri Swami Paripoornanda under Section 3 of the Anti-Social and Hazardous Activities Act 1980.
“A person in order to be externed under the section needs to be classified as a Goonda. Externing Swamji under this section gives an impression of him being a Goonda, which is highly insulting, disrespectful and defamatory for a Sanyasi, who has such a good reputation and respect in the eyes of the people of Telangana” he said.
He further stated that due to this externment, the fundamental rights of the Swami Paripoornanda, including right to speech and expression had been violated. “The externment order appears to be arbitrary and it seems that the authorities concerned are flouting the highest law of the land. Therefore, it is my humble advice to you that you get these orders cancelled else, I will be compelled to approach the court,” he added.
