Coalition will complete its five-year term at any cost: Dr G Parameshwar
Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister G. Parameshwar asserted here on Thursday that the coalition government in the state would complete its term at any cost. Speaking on the occasion of the Infosys Foundation signing an MoU with Namma Metro to build and maintain the Electronic City Metro Station at Konappana Agrahara, he said, “ I assure you that this coalition government will complete its five year term. We have not come together for our selfish motives. We have come together for the sake of Karnataka. Our Chief Minister has his own ideas and visions for Bengaluru city and we will achieve them.”
The recent emotional outburst of Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy that he had to swallow the pain of coalition government and subsequent jibes by BJP leaders had raised questions about strained relationship between the coalition partners. While Congress leaders were upset that Mr Kumaraswamy’s teary-eyed statements would impact the image of their party they were also irked by the fact that the Chief Minister did not roll back prices of petrol and diesel much to their embarrassment.
JD(S) leaders felt frequent letters of former chief minister Siddaramaiah had unsettled Mr Kumaraswamy resulting his emotional statements at an event organized by the party to felicitate him on his election as Chief Minister. Meanwhile, on the mystery shrouding the death of the Shiroor seer of Udupi, Dr Parameshwar said there are allegations that he may have been poisoned and they would be investigated.
