YSRC MP expresses concern over drug racket
Vijayawada: YSRC MP V. Vijaya Sai Reddy expressed serious concern over the increasing drug menace in AP and Telangana state during Zero Hour in Rajya Sabha, on Wednesday and requested the Centre come to their rescue as both state governments had ignored the most important sfactor in the fight against drugs and ho-och — public awareness. The Narcotic Control Bureau has to intervene and educate people about the consequence of the use of psychotropic substances as was done recently in Karnataka, he said.
The MP said the enfo-rcement authorities at the state level were not able to crack the drug graffickers' network.
“It is not just foreign drug peddlers but also unscrupulous elements in Telangana state and AP who are manufacturing drugs by getting raw-material imported from Germany and supplying drugs like methamphetamine, ketamine, ephedrine, amphetamine.
