Sasikala not enjoying special facilities in jail, says TTV Dhinakaran

Chennai: AIADMK interim general secretary V.K. Sasikala is “not enjoying any special facilities” at the Parapana Agrahara prison in Bengaluru and she is following the rule book, her nephew T.T.V. Dhinakaran said, suggesting that she has been caught in the “crossfire” between two police officers.

Dhinakaran, the deputy general secretary of the AIADMK, also threatened the media with slapping of legal notices if they continue to air “news without clarifying or getting our side of the story” Answering to volley of questions about Sasikala enjoying special facilities at the prison, he said jail rules vary from state to state and the AIADMK leader has got a few facilities like television set provided at the discretion of the jail superintendent.

“The general secretary of the AIADMK (Sasikala) is not enjoying any special facilities in the jail. She has been given facilities that she is entitled to. For instance, when I was in Tihar jail, I was also provided with fan, television set and newspapers, the facilities that I did not enjoy when I spent a few days in a prison in Chennai in 1990s,” Dhinakaran told reporters.
