Poornima Sai is back in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Poornima Sai was to brought to the city on Tuesday night by Bachupally Police and handed over to her parents.
Poornima, who was found in Mumbai, told the cops that she did not want to go back to her parents, T Nagaraju and Vijayadevi.
The girl wanted to become a film star and had even contacted certain people on Instagram regarding the same.
After Poornima was traced on Sunday in Balika Sudar Grih in Dongre area, she was handed over to the Social Welfare Department, who produced her before the Child Welfare Committee on Monday.
Meanwhile, a team from Cyberabad police and her parents flew to Mumbai to bring her back. But she refused to go back to her parents saying that she is scared.
“In her statement to police, she said that they are not her biological parents and so she did not want to go back to them. We suspect she is still under some fear. Even her parents seem to be hiding some minute details from us.” a senior Police Official from Cyberabad said.
Meanwhile, police found that after reaching Shirdi, she took the help of a passerby to access the Internet on his phone to search for rescue homes in Mumbai.
Inquiries also revealed that the girl wanted to make her career in film industry. She even used social media to share her interests with strangers. “During a conversation with a stranger, she shared about her movie dreams. We are verifying if she was lured to travel to Mumbai by that person. We hope she will reveal all the facts and go back to her parents,” another investigating official said.
