Nomination of Kovind, Venkaiah recognition to farmers: Tamilisai Soundararajan

Dr Tamilisai visited Salem on Wednesday and participated in a function to mark the issuance of LPG connections to poor women.

Chennai: The nomination of farmer’s son to the highest position of President and Vice President showed the extent of recognition for farmers in the country by the Narendra Modi government, says BJP president Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan.

The BJP leader who went ecstatic over the nomination of Ram Nath Kovind and M. Venkaiah Naidu to the posts of President and Vice President, respectively, said this has made every farmer feel proud of the two leaders. “Today every farmer feels proud because both President & VP candidates are farmers’ sons. A great recognition to farmers,” Dr Tamilisai who took to the microblogging site Twitter, said.

Dr Tamilisai visited Salem on Wednesday and participated in a function to mark the issuance of LPG connections to poor women which has an overwhelming response among the women. Later, she paid floral tributes to a portrait of party leader ‘Auditor’ V. Ramesh former state general secretary who was hacked to death by some miscreants in 2013. Union minister of State for Road Transport, Highways and Shipping Pon Radhakrishnan too paid his tributes.

Ponnar all praise for Venkaiah: Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan has claimed that the BJP’s Vice President candidate M. Venkaiah Naidu will make all the political parties rally behind him in nation building efforts. Radhakrishnan who called on Venkaiah on Wednesday in Delhi congratulated the senior leader.

Decision to detain Valarmathi under Goondas Act correct: At a time when opposition parties in the state have flayed the police for detaining Salem student M. Valarmathi under Goondas Act, BJP national secretary H. Raja has claimed the decision to invoke the Goondas Act on her is “correct.”
