Kadapa students threaten to end life in NTR University

Around 10 students of the college have got into college building without the notice of the security.

Vijayawada: Tension prevailed at NTR University of Health Sciences where 2015-16 batch students of Fatima Medical College, Kadapa, threatened to commit suicide by jumping down the university building. Around 10 students of the college have got into college building without the notice of the security and asked the university officials to do justice to them.

Around 100 students who lost their MBBS seats due to the negligence of college management were agitating since a year to do justice to them. Students have touched the feet of Medical Council of India (MCI) chairperson Jaya Sri Mehta and begged her to continue the course considering their future. But the government had not responded on the issue considering the orders of the court.

Students on Wednes-day morning climbed the university building and demanded the government to do justice. “We have been requesting the state government since a long time to continue our course but they are not hearing our requests. We have begged MCI chairman Dr Jaishri Mehta to consider our future. We had not got justice in court, We will end our life if government neglects our genuine demand,” said Imran Khan, a student’s representative.

Meanwhile, minister for medical, health and family welfare Kamineni Srinivas offered to relocate the students and continuing the course in other colleges. “We will direct the college management to pay back the fees,” he said.
