Troubled' by Karnataka CM's man, MCC officer files plaint
Mysuru: An officer of the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) has filed a police complaint alleging harassment by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s personal assistant in Delhi, Mohan Kumar and others.
Assistant statistical officer, births and deaths, S.M. Venkteshmurthy, has also claimed harassment by MCC Commissioner Dr C.G. Betsurmath and the corporation’s health officer, Dr Ramachandra .
Alleging that following his transfer from the MCC to the Karnataka Rajbhavan in Delhi, he was harassed by Mr Mohan Kumar for all the 20 months he was there , he said he was forced to lodge a complaint against him with the regional commissioner in the capital.
But since returning to the MCC 48 days ago, his attendance had not been taken, his salary had been withheld, and he was not entrusted with any work, he claimed. In a counter police complaint, Dr Ramachandra alleged there were many accusations of irregularities against Mr Venkteshmurthy , who was also not regular to work.
Dr Betsurmath, when contacted, said there were complaints of forgery and misappropriation against Mr Venkateshmurthy. “He is an unauthorised absentee. He once issued a death certificate for a person who was alive. There was a written direction from the Mayor not to take him back in the MCC, but he threatened to commit suicide. Our health officer, Dr Ramachandra had made an oral complaint against him to the Mysuru City Police Commissioner a month ago,” he added. “This is an administrative internal problem, so we have not registered a case against anyone,” the police said.
