There's more rainfall on the way in Telangana, says Met dept

All the 10 districts in Telangana are recording normal to heavy rains during the past 24 hours.

Hyderabad: Hyderabad on Tuesday registered 1.1cm of rainfall- registered during the past 24 hours ( from 8:30 am on Monday). Overall, the city has received a good 47 mm of rainfall, which is the first good spell of monsoon rains in the month of July.

These rains can be attributed to the cyclonic circulation which has formed over the west-central Bay of Bengal. The city is expected to receive some additional rain during the next 24 hours. But the downpour could be of reduced intensity as the circulation is expected to move away from the region. However, rainfall could pick up once again after July 21.

The Meteorological Department has also announced that a low pressure area is continuing over Coastal Andhra, stretching from Odisha to Tamil Nadu. This weather system will responsible for the likely heavy rain and thundershower Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra will witness for next three or four days, officials from the Hyderabad MET Department said.

“The trough along the sea level, running from Odisha to Tamil Nadu and across Coastal Andhra Pradesh persists. An upper air cyclonic circulation lies over Rayalaseema and the neighbourhood and extends between 4.5 kms and 5.8 kms above mean sea level.

All the 10 districts in Telangana are recording normal to heavy rains during the past 24 hours. Adilabad, Medak, Karimnagar, Warangal, Nalgonda and Khammam have also witnessed heavy rains of over 6cm.
