Telangana: Krishna Pushkaralu to commence from August 12
Hyderabad: It’s official now. Krishna Pushkaralu 2016 will commence from sunrise on August 12. The TS government has announced the date and time of 12-day Krishna Pushkaralu after consulting a host of Vedic pundits. “Krishna Pushkaralu will commence from August 12, 2016 at sunrise as opined by a majority of pundits and the same may be adopted by all the departments concerned for the purpose of Krishna Puskharams-2016 activities,” said revenue secretary (endowments ) N. Siva Sankar here on Tuesday.
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is promoting Krishna Pushkaralu on the lines of the Godavari Pushkaralu. The TS government is making elaborate arrangements in Mahbubnagar and Nalgonda through which River Krishna flows. Meanwhile, the finance department issued a Budget Release Order for Rs 3 crore as additional funds in relaxation of treasury control and quarterly regulation orders to the collectors of these two districts for the Pushkaralu. The government has already earmarked Rs 100.20 crore for Mahbubnagar for construction of 52 Pushkar ghats and other works and Rs 11.12 crore for Nalgonda district where 19 ghats will come up.
