No CBI probe into Shiva Shakti case: Hyderabad High Court
Hyderabad: Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday made it clear that it cannot direct AP and Telangana Police to transfer the cases registered against Shiva Shakthi and Hindu Jana Shakthi Organisations to the CBI without hearing them. The cases were registered for alleged false propaganda being spread against the Christian Community on the social media.
A Division Bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice J. Uma Devi was dealing with a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by All-India True Christian Council represented by its National General Secretary Kolakaluri Satyaseelarao seeking to direct both the State Governments to transfer the cases against Shiva Shakthi and Hindu Jana Shakthi to the CBI.
The counsel for the petitioner told the court that the police registered the cases against the above organisations in Meerpet, Kukatpally, Singotam and Warangal police stations in Telangana and Rentachintala, Singarayakon-da, Marturu and Chirala police stations in Andhra Pradesh for burning the Holy Bible and also spreading false propaganda through YouTube and Facebook.
