Bengaluru: A father and son duo met with watery grave on Monday evening when they had gone for a swim at Bagaluru Lake in Mylanahalli in north east Bengaluru.
According to the police the deceased have been identified as Jitendra Sharma, 38, a carpenter, and Luv Kusha, his eight year old son, both residents of Bagaluru.
Preliminary investigations reveal that they both ventured into the lake for a swim and drowned.According to Maruthy, District Fire Office, Hebbal, though they drowned on Monday, the incident came to light early Tuesday when the locals in the area noticed their clothes and informed the police control room.
He said the fire control room was informed on Tuesday morning, following which the rescue team was pressed into service. Half an hour later the bodies were fished out.
Police said that the deceased hailed from Uttar Pradesh. A case has been registered and bodies have been handed over to the family.
