ABVP's school bandh call leaves parents puzzled in Telangana

The ABVP state wing had declared a state-wide bandh demanding a cap on fee hike in the schools of the state.

Hyderabad: Confusion prevails among parents after a few city schools declared holiday on Wednesday in view of the ABVP’s school bandh call. The ABVP state wing had declared a state-wide bandh demanding a cap on fee hike in the schools of the state. They also demanded action against schools for taking huge donations during admissions.

Various schools in the city like DPS, HPS, Sri Chaitanya, Pallavi School and Michael school sent messages to the parents stating that they will be closed on Wednesday in view of the state-wide bandh by ABVP members in the state.

Parents from other schools who have not received any information regarding the bandh were confused whether to send their children to the schools or not.

Mr Srinivas Reddy, President of Telangana State Recognised Private Schools, said, “We have left the decision on the individual schools whether they want to declare a holiday or not.”
