Telangana: PIL against Transco's regularisation bid

Kumar told the court that all outsourced employees are hired by private contractors whose services are engaged by the power utilities.

Hyderabad: A PIL has been moved before the Hyderabad High Court challenging the proceedings issued by the Transmission Corporation for absorbing outsourcing employees into it and also in the Southern Power Distribution Company, the Northern Power Distribution Company and the Telangana State Power Generation Corporation.

M. Sravan Kumar an employee from Warangal city moved the PIL informing the court that TSTransco issued a notification on June 1, 2017 to fill up 23,699 regular posts ranging from assistant engineers/sub engineers down to unskilled workers in the power utilities.

Mr Kumar told the court that all outsourced employees are hired by private contractors whose services are engaged by the power utilities.

He contended that since the outsourced persons were in no way connected with the power sector companies, the decision taken by the authorities was violation of the law and in violation of Supreme Court orders.
