BENGALURU: “Three women corporators of BBMP wards under the Rajarajeshwari assembly constituency are making false allegations against area MLA Munirathna,” said Congress BBMP corporators from the same constituency. Ms Manjula Narayanaswamy of JD(S), Ms Asha Suresh of Congress and Ms Mamatha Vasudev of BJP from the RR Nagar constituency had tried to commit suicide, alleging that there was lack of security to women corporators in the constituency.
Mr G. Mohan Kumar, BBMP corporator from Kottigepalya ward, said, “Only because Mr Munirathna questioned the illegalities and corruption in the ward represented by the three women corporators, they tried to commit suicide to bring disrepute to Mr Munirathna."
When Mr Munirathna went to inspect developmental works in the constituency, Ms Asha Suresh sent goons to attack the MLA. When he tries to expose problems, false allegations are made against him, Mr Mohan said.
Yeshwanthpur ward corporator G.K. Venkatesh said, “Ms Mamatha Vasudev who represents the JP Park ward has grabbed land in JP Park misusing her office and creating fake documents.”They also alleged that Ms Manjula Narayanaswamy, who represents Laggere ward, is involved in extorting money from developmental works in her ward limits.
‘Allegations far from truth’
The three women corporators denied all the allegations made against them by the three Congress corporators. They alleged that all charges are politically motivated and far from truth.
They said that ever since Mr Munirathna was elected MLA, he and his followers are not allowing any developmental works to take place in their wards. They said that they are ready to face all the allegations made against them.
