Andhra Pradesh, Telangana to first settle non-issues
Hyderabad: The Chief Secretaries of TS and AP have decided to settle all interstate issues where there is no difference of opinion.
TS Chief Secretary S.P. Singh, principal finance secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao, general administration principal secretary Adhar Sinha held discussions with AP Chief Secretary Dinesh Kumar and principal secretary, state reorganisation L. Premachandra Reddy on Sunday. Later, the officials said that the discussion was general in nature.
However, sources said that there were some issues related to AP Reorganisation Act were unnecessarily pending between the two states though there was no difference of opinion on them.
While institutions listed in Schedules X and IX have been a bone of contentions, there is no headway on some institutions like the women and child welfare corporation which has no properties or bank balance.
The Chief Secretaries opined that they can resolve such issues. Sources said that the Chief Secretaries were clear that some issues where there is no political decision needed will be resolved as early as possible.
After the meeting, officials of both the state governments are preparing lists of issues where there is no dispute to take a final decision.
Sources said the next meeting of the Chief Secretaries will see some outcome. The date of the next meeting has not been finalised yet.
