Amaravati: The Nelapadu which is a small village with a population of only 1,200 people is getting place in the history of New Capital Amaravati.
Nelapadu was the first village among 29 villages of the capital region to come forward offering lands for Amaravati establishment.
Now also the Nelapadu pooled farmers are becoming first beneficiaries of the Amaravati by receiving reconstituted plots under LPS.
A woman farmer, Kommineni Adilakshmi of Nelapadu was the first person to offer 3.5-acre land CRDA under LPS on 2 January 2015. Later majority farmers of the village followed her and offered their lands to the CRDA. The pooled farmers of the village attended the awareness programme held at the panchayat office and cleared their doubts with the CRDA officials.
Villagers, K. Nageswara Rao said that they are very happy that Nelapadu getting place in the history of new capital Amaravati.
Nelapadu is barred from bus facility, safe drinking water, drainage, parks and other urban infrastructure.
“We have to go 3 km to Tullur to catch the bus and to get drinking water. They said they are hopeful of Nelapadu development with the formation of new layout with all urban infrastructure. They said that their sons and daughters are living in urban areas due to the absence of urban infrastructure.
They added that the proposed urban layouts for reconstituted plots would bring back their children which is the happiest thing.
CRDA vice-chairman and minister for municipal administration, P. Narayana said that gro-und clearance and levelling works would be conducted by CRDA in the reconstituted plots after the allotment of plots. He said that reconstituted allotment of plots and development of reconstituted layouts would be completed by October this year in all 29 villages of Amaravati Capital Region.
