KCR asks people to join Telangana Formation Day celebrations

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao on Saturday termed the upcoming 21-day celebrations to mark the 10th State Formation Day a celebration for the people and not just a government event. He called upon all citizens to participate in the celebrations starting on June 2.

In this regard, the Chief Minister held a review meeting and instructed all departments concerned to hold the TS Formation Dasabdi celebrations from the village level to the state level.

Chandrashekar Rao said that the Dasabdi event is a milestone in Telangana State’s history and said people must participate in the celebrations to highlight the development that has taken place in the state over the past decade.

“In the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh, thousands of villages witnessed lack of power supply and villagers suffered due to power interruption in rural areas. After forming Telangana state, the government provides round-the-clock power supply without any interruption,” the Chief Minister said.

“Similarly, the government has given top priority to agriculture, welfare, irrigation, drinking water, education, medical and health, and other sectors. By utilising the services of televisions and other digital media, officials must take measures to explain the development of Telangana state and the celebrations should take place from the village level to the state capital, Hyderabad, with the involvement of every citizen,” Chandrashekar Rao said.

The Chief Minister also took stock of the arrangements for the June 2 event at the Secretariat, with regard to the police parade, hoisting of the National Flag, and arranging the dais for the event. He also directed officials to take measures to accommodate invitees, ensure parking space and make other necessary arrangements.

“Officials, take measures to highlight the government's initiatives and explain them to the people, who are now enjoying the development of Telangana. We want to spend these three weeks with the people of Telangana who are enjoying the fruits of ‘Swarashtra Sadhana’,” the Chief Minister said.
