The donations of the temple were kept inside a wooden almirah in the room of the mutt’s manager.
Hyderabad: A 34-year-old office assistant at the Shankar Mutt was arrested by the Nallakunta police for stealing 250 grams gold coins worth Rs 7.5 lakh which was kept for decoration of the gold saree of the deity Sharadamba.
According to the police, the accused, Rallabandi Naga Sairam, used to work as an office assistant at the Shankar Mutt.
The donations of the temple were kept inside a wooden almirah in the room of the mutt’s manager.
Sairam got access to the keys of the almirah and stole them, said police.
