TMC, CMC in verbal duel at inter-medico festival
Kozhikode: The inter-medico fest ‘Elementa’ being held at Calicut Medical College (CMC) witnessed a verbal battle between the two leading teams, CMC and Trivandrum Medical College, on Friday, the fifth day of the programme, when the results were announced. The two teams have a neck-and-neck fight.
TMC students protested against the judgment in mime competition in which the two colleges shared the prize saying the jury showed partiality. CMC has been sharing the prizes in several items, they said, and pointed put that the two colleges shared the top slot in five events.
Earlier in the day, actor Jayasurya and director Ranjith officially inaugurated the festival, which also saw competitions begin in stage items such as mime, orchestra (eastern, western), fancy dress, adzap and classical dances Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam and Mohiniyattam.
The contestants of mime and fancy dress combined the contemporary social issues in their performances.
Around 2,000 students from 26 medical colleges in the state are participating in the fest with the tagline ‘Merge. Emerge. Talent.’
