Tamil Nadu: 6.32 lakh to take up USRB test on Sunday

This is also the first time Board is allowing transgenders to take examination under third gender category.

Chennai: As many as 6.32 lakh candidates are expected to attend the Tamil Nadu Uniformed Service Recruitment Board examination for selection of 13,137 grade II police constables, 1,015 grade II jail wardens and 1,512 firemen on Sunday at 410 centres across the state.

According to TNUSRB officials, this is the first time such a huge number of candidates will be appearing for the test conducted by the board. In 2012, a total of 2.71 candidates appeared.

The maximum number of applications - 45,523 - has been received from Chennai, followed by Madurai with 42,988 and Vellore with 41,981.

This is also the first time Board is allowing transgenders to take examination under third gender category.

Hall tickets are being issued online through official website www.tnsurbonline.org from May 11 onwards said a press release from the TNUSRB.
