INS Kozhikode is Best Ship': Commodore Sanjeev Issar

Need for maintaining continuous vigil: Commodore Issar.

Visakhapatnam: The Annual Flotilla Awards ceremony for 2016-17 was held at the Naval Dockyard premises on Friday. Naval Officer-in-Charge, Andhra Pradesh, Commodore Sanjeev Issar was the chief guest for the traditional naval ceremony who presented the awards to the ships of the flotilla excelling in different facets of operations.

The event was aimed at recognising overall excellence and valuable contribution of the ships and gallant men who have maintained constant vigil off the coast of Visakhapatnam. INS Cuddalore bagged the “Most Spirited Ship” trophy while INS Kozhikode was adjudged the “Best Ship”.

Commodore Sanjeev Issar congratulated the winners and highlighted the importance of keeping the ships in highest operational state at all times. He also stressed upon the dynamic security situation prevailing in the region and the need for maintaining continuous vigil.
