Plus-2: Overall pass rate up in Thanjavur district

Out of them a total of 26,282 students passed out, including 11,088 boys and 15,199 girls, the officer said.

Thanjavur: Thanjavur revenue district comprising of Thanjavur, Kumbakonam, Pattukottai and Orathanadu educational districts, has improved its performance in Plus-2 State Board exams this year when compared to last year.

This year the pass percentage is 91.05, one percentage more than last year's percentage of 90.26 said P. Shantha, chief educational officer here on Friday after releasing the results.

According to the CEO, a total of 28,864 students wrote the examinations in March this year, out of whom 12,661 are boys and 16,203 are girls.

Out of them a total of 26,282 students passed out, including 11,088 boys and 15,199 girls, the officer said.

As many as 92 government schools in the district registered a pass percentage of 90.26, while 16 government schools got cent percent passes.

Performance in Gaja cyclone affected areas:
In Gaja-affected Orathanadu area, out of 30 government schools, nine registered cent percent pass, in Pattukottai area four out of 26 registered cent percent passing out and in Peravurani area, two out of seven government schools registered cent percent passing out. District educational officers Pappammal (Kumbakonam), Manjula (Thanjavur), Beer John (Orathanadu) and Chinnaiyan (Pattukottai) were present on the occasion.
