Campaign intensifies in Thiruvananthapuram

The BJP is planning road shows in different Assembly constituencies in support of Kummanam Rajashekharan.

Thiruvananthapuram: With just two days left for active campaigning to end, the three candidates in Thiruvananthapuram parliamentary constituency have intensified their vehicle jathas and house-to-house campaigning in the seven assembly constituencies.

The LDF is planning a massive road show of 15,000 motorbikes on Sunday in support of their candidate C. Divakaran. The BJP is planning road shows in different Assembly constituencies in support of Kummanam Rajashekharan.

The UDF candidate Shashi Tharoor has intensified the campaigning in constituencies within city limits and programmes are planned in the rural constituencies over the next two days.

As the polling day is nearing, the rival fronts have also come out with allegations and counter allegations regarding violation of model code of conduct and discrepancy in voters’ list.

LDF election committee chairman M. Vijayakumar accused the BJP of including names of people who are not even present in their respective localities. A complaint regarding the enrollment of 15 names has been pointed out in booth number 110 of Nemom constituency. The LDF has urged the CEO to intervene in the matter.

BJP leader M. T. Ramesh accused the police of terrorising their workers engaged in propaganda work like putting up posters and banners, decorating streets with flags and festoons.
