Assaulted Russian cyclist returns home

Vershinin is now travelling to Delhi, from where he will go back to Russia.

Hyderabad: A Russian transcontinental cyclist, currently on a journey across 12 countries, suffered multiple injuries following an encounter with farmers at Kamareddy earlier this month.

Oleg Vershinin, 44, was caught in a hailstorm on April 6 and put up his tent on a field in Kamareddy in order to take shelter. As he put his hand in his pocket to pull out his phone so that he could translate his explanation into English, the farmers thought he was about to attack them and assaulted him. Vershinin is now travelling to Delhi, from where he will go back to Russia.
