HYDERABAD: In attempt to enhance document security, the United States has decided to redesign the Permanent Resident Card — which is more popular as Green Card — and Employment Authorisation Document.
The redesigning is a part of the Next Generation Secure Identific-ation Document project of the government. US Citizenship and Immig-ration Services (USCIS) will be issuing the new cards on May 1, 2017. The redesigned card will have enhanced gra-phics and fraud-resistant security features. The redesigned cards will display the individual’s photos on both sides. Also Green Cards will have an image of the Statue of Liberty. They will no longer have an optical stripe on the back.
