Nirmal: Mission Kakatiya has lost its steam in this, its third phase. Very few new tanks will be constructed and most of the work will be directed to repairing tanks built in the first and second phases of the scheme.
Repairs to the existing tanks which were constructed in phase I and II are being taken up under phase-III in the Adilabad Assembly constituency.
The officials have secured approval for very few works. At many places, work has not begun due to the intense summer heat.
Civic officials and elected public representatives are under pressure to complete Mission Bhagiratha on time and this is also causing the tank work to be neglected.
According to the source, officials concerned have sent proposals for total 350 works under phase-III of Mission Kakatiya but sanction has been given for few works.
