Telangana may see rain, but no end to heat

Thunderstorms accompanied by squalls are likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Mahbubnagar.

Hyderabad: Thunderstorms accompanied by squalls are likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Mahbubnagar, Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy and Nalgonda in Telangana state in the next 24 hours, warned Indian Meteorological Department. This will, however, not lead to any reduction in temperatures as the heat wave conditions are still continuing across all the districts of the state.

The maximum temperature at 42 degrees Celsius is above normal in some parts of the state. A light to moderate rainfall was recorded in Bayyaram in Khammam district on Wednesday. In other districts the mercury rose. Adilabad recorded 44.1 degrees, the highest in the state, followed by Nizamabad at 42.5 degrees. Hyderabad recorded the third highest temperature at 42 degrees on Wednesday.

The forecast for the city on Thursday and Friday is partly cloudy skies with possibility of thunder and lightning. The forecast for the rest of the state is light to moderate rain/thundershowers very likely to occur at isolated places.
