CHENNAI: AIADMK (PTA) treasurer O. Panneerselvam on Wednesday said he has won the first victory in his dharma yudham since the rival faction AIADMK (Amma) has decided to keep away from its general secretary V.K. Sasikala’s family.
Talking to the media, he said “We will prove that the party will be strengthened as per the wishes of people and cadre. The battle was started to stop the party from going into the hands of Sasikala’s family”. He recalled that AIADMK founder MGR and his successor J. Jayalalithaa was running the party as a movement of the masses and cadre.
He said the two factions would sit together and decide to fulfill the wishes of the party cadre. Panneerselvam was accompanied by party’s presidium chairman E. Madhusudhanan,former ministers C. Ponnaiyan, K.P. Munusamy, S. Semmalai, ‘Mafoi’ K. Pandiarajan former Speaker P.H. Pandian, MP V. Maitreyan and other senior leaders.
