Babri demolition case: PM behind trial of Advani, says Lalu Yadav
Patna: The re-opening of Babri demolition case and revival of conspiracy charges against BJP leader L.K. Advani and others is being viewed by the RJD as a political conspiracy.
Speaking on the issue, RJD chief Lalu Yadav created a stir by saying that premier investigating agency was used in the case by a faction in the BJP led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and RSS to stop BJP veteran L.K. Advani who was in the final lap of the presidential race.
“In today’s episode, I strongly smell a conspiracy. I have heard that Mr Advani was in the presidential race and after the court’s order, his chances are finished. Prime Minister has very neatly cut his cord”.
Presidential elections are due in July and though BJP has not yet declared any candidate there was a buzz in the political circle that a section in the party may strongly propose his name. Sources also claimed that several political parties including some regional leaders were also planning to support the BJP veteran.
“It was the CBI which said that the criminal conspiracy case should be initiated against Advani and others. Now when such an appeal is being made then what else is left to say or do,” Lalu Yadav said.
