Traders demanding fair probe down shutters in Pollachi

Extending their support to the traders the auto drivers of Pollachi remained off road on Tuesday.

Coimbatore: Traders at Pollachi down shutter shops on Tuesday protesting the sex scandal seeking to hang the offenders.

According to a police source, around 95 per cent of shops in Pollachi remained closed on Tuesday demanding a fair probe by CBI into the scam and monitored by the High court as well seeking the extreme punishment of hanging for the offenders.

Extending their support to the traders the auto drivers of Pollachi remained off road on Tuesday, condemning the sexual harassment against many young girls and women.

As many as 750 police men were deployed in security duty at Pollachi on Tuesday led by West Zone IG, K. Periaiah and DIG Karthikeyan. Additional strength was deployed in all sensitive areas of Pollachi.

Meanwhile, members of AIDWA, CPI(M)'s women's wing, led by district secretary Radhika petitioned the CB-CID superintendent Nisha on Tuesday demanding to lodge a new complaint against the remaining three associates of Thirunavukarasu and investigate them by taking into custody. "If the CB-CID officials fail to take the reaming three into custody we will approach the court added," added Radhika.
