SIT detains key accused in Viveka’s case
Kurnool: The SIT investigating the murder of YSRC leader Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy questioned one Duddekunta Sekhar Reddy, an associate of TD MLC B.Tech Ravi, who is also known as Mareddy Ravindranath Reddy, and is said to be a key person in the execution of the murder.
Vivekananda Reddy’s aides Gangi Reddy Parameshwar Reddy, and Sekhar Reddy were acting in concert to settling land disputes in Bengaluru and other areas. The motive for the murder has now been narrowed down to financial gain.
At the forefront is the land settlement issue allegedly worth `125 crore, where Vivekananda Reddy mediated with the help of Gangi Reddy and his gang. It is suspected that Vivekananda Reddy was upset when he found out that Gangi Reddy and Parameshwar Reddy had recently taken Rs 1.75 crore out of the proceeds.
“Sekhar Reddy, who belongs to Duddekunta village, was involved in the murder of his brother-in-law at Pulivendula. The manner in which he committed the murder four months ago is very similar to the manner in which Vivekananda was murdered,” police said.
