Chennai: I-T sleuths conduct raids on educational group of instituions

Chennai: The sleuths of Income department conducted surprise raids at a popular city-based educational group.

According to sources, the income tax department officials conducted the searches at around 7 am on Tuesday morning.

Sources said, several teams of IT wing carried out raids at educational group’s 27 institutions in Tamil Nadu. Three other places in Telangana belonging to the educational group were also raided today.

In the city, I-T teams carried out the searches in Pallavaram, Adyar, Saidapet and Ayanavaram where the branch offices and institutions are located, IT officials searched the residence of the educational group's promoters.

As many as 25 teams of IT wing were involved in the raids across the state. Sources said important documents were

seized during the raid however the official details of the raids is not known so far.
