Celebratory fire boomerangs on YSRC leader
Hyderabad: A former YSRC MLC from Hyderabad was convicted by the 17th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Nampally, which also awarded him three years and one month in jail in a case of opening fire into the air during the 2012 by-elections in the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh.
On June 15, 2012, a case was registered at Jubilee Hills police station against Mr H.A. Rahman (53), a resident of King Koti, for opening five rounds of fire into the air. Mr Rahman and several other party workers were present at the YSRC office in Jubilee Hills and were celebrating the party's success in the Assembly by-elections held for 18 seats in the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh.
Suddenly, Rahman pulled out his licensed revolver and opened fired five rounds into air. The Jubilee Hills police took Rahman immediately into custody and seized the revolver.
