Bengaluru: Hansika musical for CKC fundraiser

Hansika has been composed by Sanjali Ensemble.

BENGALURU: The C. Krishniah Chetty Foundation, which is supporting four primary government schools in the city, in their next step will organise a fundraising event to help fund an underprivileged school.

C. Krishniah Chetty Group of Jewellers in association with Rotary Club will present Hansika, an adaptation of Swan Lake by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky on March 31 at Chowdiah Memorial Hall and amount earned from donor passes will be used for the modernisation of C.V. Hayagriv Block at Rotary Vidyalaya. The dance ballet has been conceptualised, directed and choreographed by internationally renowned danseuse Sharmila Mukerjee. Hansika’s rendition in Odissi will pay tribute to the ethos of Russian ballet. Hansika has been composed by Sanjali Ensemble.

Mr Vinod Hayagriv, MD & Director, C. Krishniah Chetty Group, said, “Krishniah Chetty goes beyond gems and jewellery to promote art and culture. Our Chairman C.V. Hayagriv has personally committed to contributing an equal amount as raised by the donor passes.” Rotarian Zarir Batha, President, Rotary Club of Bengaluru, said, “We have received enormous support for our school infrastructure from C. Krishniah Chetty Group.
