Hyderabad: The education department’s move to conduct SSC exams in CCTV equipped centres has not gone down well with parents in some districts who find fault with officials for not maintaining uniformity in conducting exams since CCTVs were restricted to a few centres.
The exams are being held in nearly 2,600 centres across the state of which 330 have CCTV facilities. Most of them are model and residential schools, government junior colleges and a few private schools.
Parents at an examination centre in Sapthagiri Colony in Karimnagar protested the closed circuit cameras at the centre saying that they were an unnecessary disturbance to the students.
N.Narayana of Telangana Parents Association sought an explanation from the government whether implementation of CCTVs was its own decision or whether took steps following High Court directions.
“If department wants to implement let it be done fully. Why this discrimination. If conducting exams in CCTV centres has its advantages, then extend it to all 2,600 centres. Why alone 330 centres,” he asked.
