GHMC to distribute more LED bulbs

Hyderabad: GHMC commissioner B. Janardhan Reddy on Sunday announced that the civic body would distribute LED bulbs to 20 lakh more households in the city.He said that about 2.17 lakh households procured the bulbs from counters established by the GHMC.

During a meeting with experts from ASCI, Institute of Engineers, Energy Conservation Mission, TSSPDCL and GHMC officials on electricity conservation, he said that the GHMC had already distributed 2.17 lakh LED bulbs with a capacity of 9 watts, 50,000 tube lights and 8,750 ceiling fans. “We are targeting the remaining 20 lakh households to insist them to adopt LED lighting system to reduce power consumption,” he said.
