Bengaluru: In a bizarre twist to the story, a construction worker, whose tongue and private parts were said to be chopped off by four miscreants in the city on Friday, revealed that he harmed himself to please the goddess who used to come in his dreams to gain special astrological powers.
The labourer, Bijoy Naik, had stated in his police complaint on Friday that he was kidnapped by a gang and was tortured. The police had registered a complaint and begun the investigation.
During questioning on Sunday, Bijoy broke down and told the police that he offered his tongue and private parts to the goddess as he wanted to gain astrological powers. He told the police that he frequently made astrological predictions of his co-workers.
“We suspect him to be suffering from a mental disorder. His interrogation will continue," the Whitefield police said.
