Visakhapatnam: Rallies continue to pay homage

Candle light marches, protests and rallies would be held at various places in the city.

Visakhapatnam: Several associations and voluntary organisations are still paying tributes to the 42 CRPF jawans killed in terror attack at Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir, in the last week.

Candle light marches, protests and rallies would be held at various places in the city. North Andhra Film Directors Association members have organised a candle-light march at Beach Road near YMCA on Tuesday evening to pay tribute to CRPF jawans, who lost their lives on February 14. Film directors, technicians and artists have participated in this event. On the occasion of Magha Poornima, the members of Niyogi Brahmin Welfare Association have conducted prayers at Beach Road near Kursura Submarine seeking security to the country and for the well-being of soldiers.

Condemning the terror attack, Vizag Gold and Silver Jewellers’ Welfare Association members have taken part in a rally from Town Kotha Road to Jagadamba Junction on Tuesday morning. They have also prayed for the departed souls to rest in peace.

On the same day, the members of Traditional Fish Workers Union also conducted a rally from Fishing Harbour to RK Beach to show their solidarity towards the martyrs and their family members.

Vizag Steel Plant (RINL) employees have paid homage to the martyrs by observing a two-minute silence during the 37th RINL Formation Day celebrations held at Ukkunagaram on the same day evening.
