Visakhapatnam: Expansion works underway in RINL
Visakhapatnam: Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) has made significant progress in the areas of expansion and modernisation.
According to its chairman and managing director P.K. Rath, coke oven battery-5, central dispatch yard and KBR-2 projects are progressing at a brisk pace for early commissioning.
He was addressing the employees and their family members on the occasion of the 37th RINL Formation Day celebrations.
He said, “Vizag steel plant has made progress in all fronts, including production, marketing, material management and finance.”
The CMD further said that the work at the forged wheel plant at Rae Bareilly in UP is also picking up pace for commissioning in September. RINL is all set to create a record sales turnover of more than Rs 20,000 crore during this financial year, he said.
The RINL has focused on ramping up its production to reach rated capacities, increase pulverised coal injection (PCI) in all the three blast furnaces to bring down the requirement of coke procurement to reduce hot metal production cost, early commissioning of coke oven battery-5, to reduce the dependence on purchase of coke.
On Tuesday, the CMD has presented a cheque worth Rs 1.02 crore to the Chief Minister towards CM relief fund from employees’ contribution and CSR fund to help the victims of Titli cyclone.
Steel Executives Association representative Katam S.S. Chandra Rao, CITU representative J. Simhachlam and other RINL executives were also present. They have given a representation to the CM on allotment of iron ore, land for a marketing office and yard along with sufficient water. Mr Naidu has assured them to provide the same.
